Our People

William F. Berardi, CPA: "Bill" has been in the practice of Public Accounting since 1979. He was licensed as a CPA in 1982 and has been a principal in his own firm beginning in 1983. He holds an MBA from Marist College (1990). He also received a Bachelor of Science degree from Marist in 1979 and an Associate in Applied Science degree from Ulster County Community College in 1977. Bill also is a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) certification from the AICPA.

He has been a Board Member and President of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs, Member of the Ulster County Comptroller's Citizen Advisory Committee, Key Bank Advisory Board, Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley Finance Committee, and the Kingston Consolidated School District Audit & Finance Committee.

Other previous community services include acting as Trustee of several scholarship funds, Chairman and Treasurer of John A. Coleman Catholic High School, Board member of the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, Save Them Now, Kingston Mid-Town Business Association, and the Kingston Land Trust as well as Professional Education Instructor for SUNY Ulster, Ulster ARC Brookside School Building Campaign Committee, and as Mentor for the Ulster County School to Work Partnership, NYS Dept. of Economic Development and Marist College Alumni network.

Bill provides many services to business owners and related entities including tax planning, compliance, and financial reporting. His services also include tax audit representation; litigation support for civil and matrimonial cases including expert witness testimony; business start-up, expansion, turn-around, cost analysis, profit enhancement, succession planning and business sales; Personal financial planning involving retirement, estate and gift taxes, Estate Administration and Elder Care issues.

Timothy J. Gottstine, CPA:  "Tim" has been with the firm since 1989. Tim graduated from Binghamton University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also holds an Associate in Applied Science degree from Ulster County Community College (1986). He is an Enrolled Agent (EA) in addition to being a CPA. Tim is a life member of the Tillson Volunteer Fire Company and serves as Treasurer of the Onteora Runners Club. He provides services to a variety of clients in the areas of accounting, tax, and financial reporting.

Chad D. Miller, CPA: Chad joined the firm in 2000. He holds a Master of Taxation (MT) degree from The University of Tulsa (2007). He also earned degrees from SUNY New Paltz (B.S. Accounting, 2000) and Ulster County Community College (A.S. Business Administration, 1998). Chad provides a full range of accounting, tax, and financial reporting services to both businesses and individuals. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering in the Rondout Valley Little League, the Rondout Valley Scholarship Fund, and the Marbletown Elementary PTA, as you guessed it, Treasurer.

Our History

William F. Berardi began the firm in 1983 on his own. He was joined over the years by Tim Gottstine (1989) and Chad Miller (2000).

Our Credentials

All CPAs are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Each CPA must obtain 40 hours per year of mandatory continuing professional education (CPE) and the firm is subject to the Peer Review process every three years.
